Hi 小王子, 你好！
That’s cheeky Joo again, this time at Le Petite France, a French cultural village featuring (of course) The Little Prince. This french theme park is located in Gapyeong, just outside Seoul. So technically speaking, this place is not in Seoul but I’m still going to file it under Seoul 😛
Ok that’s him, alone.
I love colours, but it was a pity that I arrived on a rainy day.
You may think that you have landed on the Mediterranean coast, but it’s right here in South Korea.
Delighted to find pretty wall murals all around.
There were also old movie posters replicas.
There were boulevards, lined with flowers, which were rather pretty sights.
Interesting, this cultural village serves as a youth training facility (Goseong Youth Training Center).
Part of K-drama Beethoven Virus was filmed here. The ever popular Running Man tv show has one of its episodes filmed here too!
The gallery building showed puppets, dolls, sculptures etc…
Part of the amphitheater where you can catch shows.
I took about an hour, wondering the place without watching the shows. Most shows r done in Korean, so it’s a little hard to understand.
Technically, you can also try Mediterranean clothes and French food in this theme park. There’s a restaurant (food choices were limited and rather expensive so I wouldn’t recommend it) and some snack providers. Grab an ice cream or a drink during summer months, that would probably work.
You can grab some souvenirs from the shop, catch a show and take loads of pictures.
For 8000 won and a 1.5 hrs ride from Seoul, I think it’s best to visit this place with a group of fun-loving friends for photo opportunities! You may also plan this along with a Nami island visit.
Dongseoul station, 45 min to Cheongpyeong terminal (4600 won)
Wait for the bus 31-20 which comes at intervals (1300 won cash or 1200 by T-money)
(Look out or ask for the return schedule timing, or end up waiting for 50 minutes like me :p )
Alight at the ninth stop about 25 minutes later when the bus announces “Petite France”.
1063, Hoban-ro, Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do
