Our coffee from Boracay Regency’s Christina’s every morning, with warm milk lovingly served by the staff.
Now that we have seen all the sights and excitement that Boracay has, here’s the-not-really-the-last-post for this trip, about how you can get to Boracay in style and a few recommendations of where to stay!

Without doubt, the direct flight from Singapore to Kalibo via Tigerair is currently the fastest way to get to Kalibo airport, where you can purchase Tiger Transfer for about SGD15 or 500 pesos (on the flight or when you land, prices subjected to changes without prior notice, please check with Tigerair prior to your departure) to get you to your vacation home, which is usually a 1.5 hrs journey to Caticlan pier and approximately a 15 minutes ferry ride to the resort, depending on where your resort is.
Prior to this, most travelers have to transit via Manila or Cebu. With this arrangement, those who would like to travel to Boracay save up to 1.5hrs of precious travel time, which you can effectively use it to explore Boracay!
Visa requirement: Singaporeans do not have to apply for a visa if you are staying for less than 30 days. More visa information can be found at the official Philippines tourism website.
The interior of the plane was pretty new, and we were comfortably seated, all ready to rock Boracay!
I was intrigued by the snack & shopping menu, which comprised of items that you do not normally see on the other budget flights! This has to be the most interesting and customized version.

As we approached Kalibo…
The journey was a good one, and we were in Kalibo in no time! The historical moment was accompanied by welcome flowers / dances etc.
(Just to fast forward a little, this was on our return leg, the weather was brilliant and the plane was adorable!)
Back to the day of arrival!

As we exit the Kalibo airport, the guests of the inaugural Singapore to Kalibo flight were also warmly received by traditional dancers of the Kalibo St. Nino Ati-atihan Festival in the brightest and most colorful costumes.
The annual Ati-Atihan Festival in January, which celebrates the Christianization of the native ati in the first Christian mass in the city. Year-round, tourists are welcome to see the Sampaguita Gardens and Martyrʼs Shrine.
And so after 6 hrs of travel, you would arrive at your choice of accommodation in Boracay, and here are a few recommendations that you can consider for the planning of your trip.
For families / large group of friends
One of the most important facilities that these resorts have is a lift (or at least very strong porters). You need to get your luggage up to that damn third floor, and you have two or more young kids that you need to carry, how does that work? So, having lift access is important!
Boracay Regency (prices starting from 5,800++ pesos)
We were generously hosted by Boracay Regency for our 4 nights in Boracay! Right in middle of Station 2 of the White Beach, and equipped with a full range of services (spa, pools, gym, business centre etc), it’s great choice for families or groups of friends who wish to have a fuss-free holiday!
Service (Did I mention they sent a nurse to my room to dress my wound when i returned to the room after midnight? How awesome was that?)

Visit the VIP lounge for some mid-day snacks and chill-out time
Having some silly fun
Love the snacks!
Interior of the VIP lounge. Cosy!
Fairways and Bluewater Resort (For reservations, please contact the team at email@example.com)
Away from the hustle and bustle, Fairways and Bluewater Resort has loads of activities for everyone within the compound. We left our hearts at the absolutely breath-taking private beach which is a hidden gem!

The infinity pool that overlooks the sea.
Classic and comfy room in a 2BR apartment, good for 4 to 6 pax.
If you recall the list of activities such as horse riding, zipline and segway, they can all be done within Fairways and Bluewater Resorts! Alternatively, chillout at their spa or the gorgeous pool.
Awarded by Travel+Leisure as the best family hotel in Asia for two consecutive years (2012, 2013), and the number 1 hotel spa – Terra Wellness Spa (2011, 2012, 2013) is also located within this resort, your Boracay escapade to Discovery Shores will definitely be a great one!
The bloggers wondered around a 2BR apartment.
Cosy room~~ I was really tempted to jump onto the bed for a rest!
For couples / honeymooners / lovers (you get my point)
Shangri-la Boracay (prices from 14,700 pesos ++)
We had a fantastic lunch hosted by the team from Shangri-La.
We visited a few rooms, but there was one particular loft villa that got all of us drooling, Charles included.
This is the view you wake up to if you manage to book a loft villa. Tranquil and surreal.

Exceptional comfort in the tropics. I love how they described this.
Shangri-La Boracay has their own speedboat, so you get picked up from the Caticlan pier directly and get sent to the resort, in style.

Boracay Mandarin (prices starting from 5400++ pesos for 2D1N promotional package, promo ends 15 October 2013.)
BM is situated in the heart of the action (Station 2) too, and has an interesting themed decor. Party-goers can chill out and party all night long at the various bars, and just pop back to the hotel for a good rest as it’s really convenient.

Oh man, that was quite a long list of stylish stays for consideration.
A good night’s rest at these places will definitely give you all the energy required for an awesome day out at Boracay!
And do rem to stay tuned to the final (really final) post 🙂 Cya soon!
